​Hello, my name is Deven Callum. Working with students has been a passion of mine since 2001. It takes a village to raise any child, and my calling is to do so in a school setting. I have had held many hats as an educator. These include behavioral specialist, resource assistant (paraprofessional), and coach. I have experienced the ups and downs of working with students and know how the positives completely blow away the negatives. After a 12-year run as a paraprofessional working at the Academic Learning Community of Advanced Studies, a pilot school on the campus of Miguel Contreras Learning Complex, and 12 years of coaching football (five as Head Coach), And now a first year teacher at Santee Educational Complex I continue to attend California State Long Beach, working towards a Masters degree in adapted Physical Education (APE)
